The 2nd night was F.O.P's opening ceremony, officiated by YB Dato Jacob Dungau Sagan, Deputy Minister of International Trade & Industry of Malaysia. The evening was again filled with various presentations from local artiste & groups. Among them were singer & song writer, Shal Sagan, who is now based in Kuching and all the way from Kota Kinabalu, Wilson B. Lion, who've also produced an album.
These are some shots from the evening.. Enjoy!
Ushering in our VVIP, YB Dato Jacob Dungau Sagan was Mr Romulus Agan, Chairman of SIB Miri District Youth Ministry.
Speech by YB Dato Jacob
YB Dato Jacob played the 'Sape'to mark the opening ceremony of F.O.P
Mr Romulus, an International 'Orang Ulu' dancer, lead the 'Daerah Miri' team with the welcoming traditional dance..
And the concert begins..
Shal Sagan contributed 2 songs from her album. To get in touch or get a hold of her albums, you can reach her HERE.

Accompanying Shal on the bass guitar was Alan. This fella has gone a long way with his tapping & sliding. Gotta admire the skill lah!
..and on the drums was Melvin.. (this guy is one incredible drummer and respecting his humble request, I'm allowed to say here that he was also the former drummer for a local band which have made themselves heard around Malaysia & Indonesia).
The stage was also 'served' with dramas. Such talented actors & actresses we have around Miri!

The mothers presented a dance as well.. Gracefully done!

..after a few more presentations, the evening ended with 2 songs from his album "SUSUION" (in Dusun it means, 'Tell The Story') by Wilson B. Lion of Sabah. To grab a copy of his album, contact his agent HERE.
..and 'traditionally' me, here's a group shot backstage with the gang..
Now that the concert is over, I've started to do a few strums on my acoustic Fender & my Ibanez Gio which has been gathering dust all this while.
But suddenly a thought overcame me! What will happen to my Nikon D300 & D40X?!!
Will they gather dust as well?.. hmmmmmmm.. (..thinking very longggg)
On a more serious note.. I am not paid any commissions or royalties for linking these artiste sites here kay. Their generosity & approval were earlier agreed prior to uploading of these images. To all you sweet supportive viewers, you are very much welcomed to link my site to yours but if you have the intentions to download or use the pictures here for commercial or even private use, do consult me first kay. Thank you and Happy Easter to all!

Festival Of Praise - 1st Nite - Dewan Suarah, Miri

Dated 18th to the 20th March 2009 marks another round of accomplishment for the Miri District SIB Youth Ministry in organizing the Festival Of Praise at the Civic Centre. The festival gathers not only bands & dance groups from the SIB churches but also other Christian denominations around Miri as well. Pastor Bios of Sabah was the guest speaker. Though I missed the 3rd night, I'd say the event is a positive move towards polishing & discovering new talents in the music & dance ministry for His glory. Well done to the committee, ushers and to all the groups participated during the 3 nights. To those attended, thank you for your support and prayers..
On to the photos now..

Muliadi & Sabrah's Engagement Ceremony
Held on the last day of November, I was again privilege to capture another engagement ceremony.. but this time, a Malay ceremony. Having a mixed tradition from Limbang, Brunei & Miri, it was an interesting event to capture. Like many other Malay engagements, its a tradition for the groom to send gifts for his 'soon to be bride'. During this occasion, Muliadi's side sent 7 items while Sabrah's side returned the favor with 11 items ranging from perfumes, costumes, foot wears, the Quran and of course, the rings.
To Muliadi & Sabrah, congrats on your engagement. I enjoyed the evening very much. Look forward for the big day. I know I'm gonna sweat a lot soon! Yeeehhhaaaa!!

SM Sains Miri Reunion (PMR 96 & SPM 98)
Ex-students of SM Sains Miri for PMR year 1996 & SPM year 1998 batch, held their 1st reunion at Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri just last weekend. Scattered everywhere around Malaysia now, the 30+ ex-students who made it for the event, flew all the way from their respective location. Tracy, one of the organizing committee entrusted me to photograph the event. I'm very much honored of course. Though I was running around 'freezing time', the moments reminded me of my school days too. No, I'm not Ex-SM Sains. Not as bright as these folks are..hehehe..
If you wanna grab a copy of the Photo DVD, email Ms Tracy at: tress1907@yahoo.com. I've delivered her the full set. Ya I know, I'm fast! Thank you.
