Now in her twenties, Joanna was back in Miri over the weekend, since her last visit about 7 years ago. I still recall, she was way way taller than I was. Raised in Canada, now furthering her studies in Singapore for few months, it was good to catch up with an old friend again. During her short visit last weekend, Jenn & I spent the afternoon with her at Delifrance and then later we headed to Marina Bay for a short portrait session with the gorgeous one. The last shot (though there are many more) were taken at The Grand Old Lady atop 'Canada Hill' where the 1st oil was struck in Miri in the year 1910.
Also a Miss Teen British Colombia a few years back, you made us friends proud babe! Joanna, sweet of you to visit Miri again and took the time to spend the afternoon with Jenn & I. Wish it was longer. I bet Linzhi, Doris & Jiaren are envying you after looking at these sets. Look forward to hear from you soon yah. Hope you'll enjoy these selection of YOURSELF kay.
For all you fanatic viewers out there, my apology again for my long silence. I've been occupied with portraits lately and experimenting on some editing techniques. Enjooyyy!! ..

Dinner at Florencius & Sheena's
After dinner at Florencius & Sheena's place a few nights ago, we had a swell time 'shooting' each other on my camera. Besides learning fast on the camera (Conducted a 10mins crash course with em both), Flo is a master at roasting ribs I tell you! 'Bon Apetite' everyone!
Introducing our Chef of the evening, Mr Florencius

The very hospitable & bubbly, Sheena..(Shot by Flo himself, edited by me)

Dressing up with Miriam & Jenn
While accompanying the girls shopping at one of the fashion house here in Miri, my finger grew itchy and pulled out the cam. Tried a few portraits on em when I was asked to put my cam away by one of the staff.. "Cannot take photo here!", she said. Oh well..glad I did shoot the girls coz they look cute in their dresses here. (Shoot 1st, then say sorry later!)
Miriam in her selection
Jenn in hers..(notty one tis girl!)
This next shot has nothing to do with the dressing up session but I just have to slot his portrait coz this is one notty but cute nephew I have!
The very mischievous Matt.

Players Meet-up
Over last weekend, I had a good chat with 2 photography enthusiasts, Elvis & William. Yup, we're among the many Nikon users around town. Tis overwhelming for me to exchange ideas and share the passion with these two brilliant artists & bloggers. These are a few close-ups on the gang. Looking forward to meeting-up more photographers & anyone picking up on this field. Cheers!

Could this be their last resort in going through LIFE? (Shot these from inside Abi's moving car while passing streets in KL)

On Air Asia
Back to Miri on the 7pm flight from KL on a Sunday. After so many years, I met an old secondary school classmate on the same flight. He was on his way back for his wedding reception in Miri. Mak Wan Fui has been working in KL for few years and thus meeting his wife too. The guy is doing pretty well in the hotel industry. Come to think of it, we should organize a school reunion already. Its been 11 years since I left secondary school. Ahhhhh.. the good old days!
While I was catching up on old times with Mak, Jenn was entertaining a kid from the back row

Satay Kajang Hj Samuri
Before heading to the airport for our flight back to Miri, Abi suggested we divert to Kajang for its famous "Satay". Its been 9 years since my last Satay Kajang. There are a few nice eating places around Kajang you can enjoy Satay and among them is "Satay Kajang Hj Samuri". This guy has outlets in KL even. One thing I noticed with the Satays in Kajang is that the portion is bigger. You'll notice a lot of antiques placed inside & outside the premise. Besides the usual Chicken & Beef Satay, they even serve Rabbit & Deer Satay. Heard its good for those who are on a low-cholesterol diet, plus don't take too much of the 'Kuah Kacang' laaa..

Merlinda portioning the 'Kuah' for us..
Glorious Satays! We had like 50 skewers. 'Tapau' some more for mum & dad to taste in Miri.

Ikea at The Curve
Towards evening, Abi & Merl drove us to Ikea at The Curve. Had to make a point to meet up with a 'long time no see kanid', Adrian & his wife, Bernice. He was ill during our previous trip. Tis good to catch up with you both again! See you guys for Christmas yah...
The gang
Sorryy.. the 'auto-focus' was on me. Sometimes my D300 just wanna focus on me la.

Nick & Evie acting out a drama scene..Don't recall wic one though.
We went to watch a movie later on. Go watch "Tropic Thunder". One hilarious movie by Ben Stiller that one! I remember Mel was laughing her heads of, she rocked the whole row! 'Ganas bah tat girl'. Luckily I was not thrown of my seat. Also, how I wish Miri's Star cineplex is as good as the cineplex there. The sound & visual quality is superb!

The Condo Is Complete
After 'brunch' in Pudu, we headed to inspect the Condo in Kuchai Lama. Took about 15-20 mins drive to reach our destination. Upon reaching, we collected the keys and head-up. Though there were some minor adjustments required on the place, we're happy its complete and nice.
The following day, we went again to do some measurements. Forgot to bring the measuring tape the day before. What was I doing while everyone were busy putting ideas into the place? As usual, I'm the guy with the camera laa.. what else wud I do if not taking angles here & there.
From the playground below. Our block is on the other side.
From the balcony. As you can see, our block face the main entrance below.

Roasted Chicken Duck at Pudu
Our intention was to go for breakfast but since it was almost 1pm, we settled for Roasted Chicken & Duck Rice instead. The stalls are located opposite and along the old Pudu Plaza. Ask direction from the locals if need to, okay. Besides taking photographs, I'm into food too. That explains my 'bulky' figure now. I would recommend the place to anyone coz its just too very tasty to describe. I don't know how they do it but the taste and the juice from the meat is so rich and also very tender. I have to remind you here, it requires a bit of your patient coz the place is usually very occupied. (For Non-Halal 'food enthusiast' only)

Tender Roasted Duck
